SLIPCASTING

Slipcasting is the process of forming ceramics by pouring water reduced clay into plaster moulds. I use porcelain slip to make four different shapes: two types of lidded jars, Seagull creamer and a small bowl. The slip-casting technique allows to create of multiple pieces that look the same but still are very different, and porcelain likes to 'dance' in the kiln; therefore, each piece is individual. Jars and bowls can be mixed and matched and used as a set. I've used pastel colours as well as earthy colours. This series is a one-off collection; I won't be making more once gone.
